Three international fleet driver safety organisations have come together to create the first single-source global safety program for fleets, including reporting and certification.
The Global SafeDrive Alliance has been formed by the CEI Group (covering the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico), CEPA Safety (Latin and Central America) and VVCR (Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific). Members operate across six continents and support more than 35 languages.
The Alliance is set to help global fleets which previously had to manage multiple vendors across different markets. It will handle driver risk assessment, behavioural training and global data management as well as other areas of a worldwide safety programme. It has three components: consultation and assessment; implementation of country-specific programmes for coaching and training; and monitoring driver behaviour.
As part of this new co-operation, a new global reporting platform, which will be demonstrated at the NAFA Institute and Expo in Florida, will include reports on accident rates, injuries, accident types, preventable vs. non-preventable accidents, driver training compliance rates and customised benchmarking criteria, among others.
Patrick Hekkery, CEO of VVCR, comments: ′The Global SafeDrive Alliance presents the first opportunity for global fleets to implement a consistent, behavioural-based and scientifically-proven driver safety programme across the world with a think global, act local approach.’
