While manufacturers are developing their electric vehicle (EV) plans, there is a second race going ahead, with companies competing to be the first to deliver autonomous vehicles to the market.

This race does not just involve carmakers; however, with suppliers, technology companies and governments keen to ensure their systems lead the industry forward into a driverless future. Partnerships are being forged; external businesses are implementing plans and funding is being found for educational institutes to research this emerging field.
