Ford recently announced that it was to appoint a new director of electrified vehicles, while Opel has announced that its PACE! plan has been a success and will have an electrified version of all models by 2024.
Additionally, Daimler, through its Mercedes-Benz brand, Audi and Porsche have launched their electric SUVs, Volkswagen is investing heavily in EVs, and could enter a partnership with Ford, and Tesla is turning a profit according to its Q3 results.
Therefore, carmakers are getting to grips with electric technology. However, Autovista Group wants to know which manufacturer will be a leader in the field in the next ten years. Will Tesla continue to set the trends in the market, or will one of the German companies be able to compete and make a strong mark?
Could a partnership with Volkswagen help propel Ford to the top of the electric pile, or will PSA Group’s investment help Opel and its British arm Vauxhall lead the way? Or will Renault and Nissan, with their Zoe and Leaf models respectively, continue to press forward with their market-leading positions?
